NWO invests in IT research

Five consortia will develop new software for the financial, health and governmental sectors. NWO (Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research) invests in total 2 million euros. De consortia consist of universities, governmental institutes and the commercial sector.

The funding comes from the research program JACQUARD (Joint Academic and Commercial Quality Resarch & Development). This program strengthens the Dutch knowledge position in the field of Software and Service Engineering. They put emphasis on the usefulness of research results. Crucial is the structural cooperation between universities and potential users of the research results, from the beginning on.
